Mother’s Day is a big event at Grassington House, like all family-related events are, as the close-knit Grassington House team pulls together to create a warm, relaxed and familial environment.
The Grassington House slow-cooked beef will definitely be a feature on the menu this Mother’s Day, as it’s always a popular dish, and Chef John likes to create a fish dish for his female guests, this weekend seasonal like caught skrei cod. This in addition to another favourite, a cheesecake, and as we are approaching rhubarb season, it’s made with regionally sourced Wakefield rhubarb.
Mother’s Day traditions in the UK relate to when poor families welcomed their children back from domestic service or apprenticeship on the fourth Sunday of Lent. It was a rare day off to return to the ‘mother church’ and family.
We’ll be sure to make this rare day off a special day for all.
