Father's Day - 18th June 2017

It's the turn of hard working dads to take the spotlight and enjoy a bit of attention from their family.

Here's five questions with proud dad and Grassington House Executive Chef, John Rudden.

1. What does it mean to you to be a dad?

Being a dad is the greatest gift of all.

2. How many children / grandchildren do you have?

I have four children, twin boys, & two beautiful daughters. And then I have four grandchildren.

3.. What lessons did you take from your own father that you use / remember today?

Don’t talk about yourself, let others talk about you. And my father's work ethic has definitely become mine - you only get out what you put in.

4. Have you passed on your culinary skills to your children?

James cooks a little & Adam is now our Front of House Manager. I teach my children to enjoy good fresh food, but I want them to find their own path in life. If it's catering, then I will be more than happy to help them.

5. Do you have a family motto / mantra that you have instilled in your own family?

Family is the most important thing...
